joshu the cat

To catch you up some more. After Nansen died (see other post!), I got Joshu. The names are from a Zen story that appeals to me.....
*****
Don't let his pleasant demeanor fool you! He's completely insane. I love him to death, but he is nuts. He was much younger than Nansen when I got him. Nansen was a *much* calmer cat (even with all the talking he did. Whatever the case, Joshu is much more tightly wound. His biggest issues is that he shows his love by biting and chewing and digging his claws into your flesh. I know he loves me, but it HURTS!
joshu the cat againMy kids absolutely love him. It's a big treat for them to have a cat to play with when they come over to my apartment. Of course, when I got Joshu, he immediately got sick. Some sort of upper respiratory infection. basically, he had a "cat cold". We got him all better, but he still weezes and sneezes from time to time ....typically right in my mouth when we wake up in the morning. Another way he shows his love....
joshu the cat yet again
By the way, the only pictures I have (except for the first one here - he attacked just after I took that picture....) are of him sleeping. He moves constantly when he's awake. Mostly attacking me or anything that moves. He's a good kitty, though. In my next post, I will try to remember to write the Zen story about Nansen & the Cat. It's weird, but such is Zen.....
