website. This new album is the second that they
have done with a new-fangled financing scheme.
Basically, the way it works is that as a consumer/fan,
you preorder the CD, which allows you to get the
CD a month or so early. It also allows you to have
your name listed in the credits of the CD (which
is pretty cool, I think).
For the band, it allows them to have their CD financed without having to get an advance to be paid back to a record company. Often, bands work more as indentured servants than as musicians, but that's a story for another time.
